Saudi Arabia launches one-year multiple-entry Umrah visa with 90-day stay

RIYADH - Saudi Arabia has launched a new multiple-entry Umrah visa valid for one year, allowing pilgrims to enter the kingdom several times over a 365-day period and stay for a cumulative total of up to 90 days, the Ministry of Hajj and Umrah has announced.

The ministry said on Monday, in a statement carried by the Saudi Press Agency (SPA), that the visa is designed to give pilgrims greater flexibility to plan repeated visits throughout the year rather than being limited to a single trip. It is valid for 365 days from the date of issuance, with the 90-day allowance calculated cumulatively across all visits based on the number of days spent in the kingdom.

For each entry, pilgrims must purchase a service package from an approved provider on the Nusuk platform — the kingdom's official digital portal that lets international pilgrims apply for visas and book services online without intermediaries. The package duration must not exceed the number of days remaining on the visa, and holders must also obtain an Umrah permit through the Nusuk app before travelling, with the permit dates matching their approved package.

For the first visit, applicants purchase a package, submit their visa request and complete the required procedures before travelling, with entry and exit details recorded to track the remaining stay. The visa is deactivated each time a holder leaves Saudi Arabia and reactivated for the next visit once the relevant regulatory requirements have been met.

The visa cannot be used to enter the kingdom during the annual Hajj season, which runs from the first day of Dhu Al-Qi'dah to the 13th of Dhu Al-Hijjah, in line with existing pilgrimage regulations.

The ministry said the move supports the goals of Saudi Vision 2030 and its Pilgrim Experience Programme, which aim to simplify arrival procedures, enrich the pilgrim experience and improve service efficiency, as the kingdom seeks to welcome more Muslims and strengthen its role as a religious and cultural hub while diversifying its economy.

The step builds on earlier measures, including the August 2025 launch of Nusuk's dedicated Umrah visa service and last year's decision allowing Gulf citizens and residents to perform Umrah year-round. Saudi Arabia recorded more than 1.27 million pilgrims arriving from abroad in the first six weeks of the current Umrah season, which began on 31 May 2026.
