CHARITY ORGANISATIONS IN QATAR

The word ‘sadaqah’ literally means ‘righteousness’. It refers to a virtuous deed or an act of kindness done without the expectation of getting anything in return. Sadaqah in the modern Islamic context has come to signify "voluntary charity"; reflecting on the best of all human characteristics – generosity, benevolence, and kindness.

Qatar has a number of charity organisations, each of which allow you to donate to people in need. Some of the most prominent ones are listed below.

  • Qatar Red Crescent Society (QRCS)

Internationally renowned for its volunteer and charity projects, Qatar Red Crescent S??ociety (QRCS) is a humanitarian organization that works to help and empower vulnerable individuals and communities without partiality or discrimination. QRCS is an active member of the International Red Cross and Red Crescent Movement, which comprises the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC), the International Federation of the Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies (IFRC), and a network of National Societies in 190 countries.

Throughout its long history, QRCS has been serving as an auxiliary to the State of Qatar in its humanitarian efforts, in light of its central mission of improving the lives of vulnerable people by mobilizing the power of humanity inside and outside of Qatar.
