Russian scientists at the Institute of Biology and Aging Medicine have developed an experimental gene therapy described as a potential anti-aging vaccine aimed at slowing cellular aging.
Deputy Science Minister Denis Sekirinsky said the treatment targets the RAGE receptor, which is linked to age-related cellular changes.
He explained that blocking the receptor could help extend the youthful state of cells.
The project is part of Russia's national New Health Preservation Technologies program launched in 2025, aimed at advancing biotechnology research.
