Qatari marathon runner, Rashid Al-Hajri
Qatari marathon runner, Rashid Al-Hajri, reached the finish line of the 125th edition of the Boston Marathon on Monday as he made history as the first GCC athlete to finish all six major world marathons.Â
In a post on Instagram, Rashid Al-Hajri shared photos after the race as he holds the Qatar flag and two medals, a Boston Marathon medal and a Six Star medal. As runner number 16827, Rashid Al-Hajri completed the race with a time of 3:32:29.Â
Completing the Boston Marathon also paved a way for him to become the first ever Six Star Finisher from Qatar.Â
In an Instagram story, Abbott World Marathon Majors shared pictures of Rashid with a caption "The first ever 6 star finisher from Qatar."Â
Qatar Olympic also celebrated this feat with a post on Twitter. It said: "Congratulations! #Qatari Champion Rashid Al-Hajri completed the Boston Marathon, making him the first #GCC athlete to finish all 6 major world marathons: #Tokyo, #London, #Berlin, #Chicago, #NewYork and #Boston."Â
