Director-General of the Cultural Village Foundation (Katara) Dr. Khalid bin Ibrahim Al Sulaiti opened on Monday the Qatari plastic art exhibition at building 19, hall 2.

Attended by an elite of artists and those interested in plastic art, the exhibition features artworks of a host of Qatari plastic artists who carried the torch of plastic art and held multiple exhibitions at home and abroad to represent Qatar in several international artistic arenas.

Their works highlight the Qatari reality in the past and present, as the exhibition includes artworks of a contingent of Qatari plastic artists hailing from a variety of schools and opinions for this artwork.
In exclusive statements to Qatar News Agency (QNA), Director of the Public Relations and Communications Department at Katara Salem Mabkhout Al Marri said the Qatari plastic art exhibition is permanent and private for Qatari artists in the field of plastic art.

The exhibition showcases 30 artworks for 14 male and female artists and addresses roughly three generations from 1960 until 2023, he outlined, adding that some abstract and real works are being showcased some of them are related to heritage and Islamic art, along with other numerous fields.

Plastic artist, Maryam Al Mulla told QNA that she is pleased to participate in the Qatari plastic art exhibition, pointing out that the exhibition is persistent and open to attendees from various generations of trailblazers, Middle Ages, and young people, adding that paintings are changed, and opportunities are open to other artists.

She underscored the importance of this exhibition in demonstrating the artistic abilities of artists and their innovations, as well as capitalizing on a wide range of expertise from schools.

Katara holds this event within the framework of its permanent keenness to supply the art scene with promising artworks, in addition to supporting the Qatari artists to nurture the scene and keeping up with art fans.
