QatarEnergy has signed a memorandum of understanding with Egypt and ExxonMobil to support the development of natural gas resources in the Eastern Mediterranean region.

The agreement focuses on advancing gas development projects by using Egypt’s liquefied natural gas (LNG) infrastructure and strategic regional position.

The partnership aims to:

Qatar’s Minister of State for Energy Affairs and President and CEO of QatarEnergy, Saad Sherida Al-Kaabi, described the agreement as:
“An important step in strengthening regional energy cooperation across the Eastern Mediterranean by unlocking the long-term commercial potential of natural gas resources in the region.”

He also expressed confidence in the partnership, stating that QatarEnergy looks forward to working closely with:

  • The Egyptian government

  • Strategic partner ExxonMobil
