QatarEnergy Congo discovery
QatarEnergy, as a partner in TotalEnergies E&P Congo (TEPC), announced a hydrocarbon discovery in the MHNM-6 NFW well of the Moho G structure within its offshore exploration and production concession (the country’s Moho license) in line with the Republic of Congo.
QatarEnergy has a 15% equity interest in TotalEnergies E&P Congo (TEPC), the operator of the Moho license. TEPC has a 63.5% stake in the license, which it holds with Trident Energy (21.5%) and Société Nationale des Pétroles du Congo (15%).
Commenting on the find, His Excellency Mr. Saad Sherida Al-Kaabi, the Minister of State for Energy Affairs and President and Chief Executive Officer of Qatar Energy said:
“We are excited to further enhance our growing international portfolio with this highly prospective new discovery in the Republic of Congo. We are eager to partner with our world-class strategic partner, TotalEnergies and the Congolese Government in developing these resources.”
High quality Albian reservoirs have been encountered with a 160-meter hydrocarbon column at the MHNM-6 NFW well. Data were acquired and sampled to facilitate subsurface interpretation and guidance for future development.
