Qatar-Saudi air, sea and land borders to open tonight
Agreement reached to open airspace, land and sea borders between Qatar and Saudi Arabia. The border will be open from tonight, Kuwaiti Foreign Minister HE Sheikh Dr Ahmed Nasser Al-Mohammed Al-Sabah said.
"It was agreed to open the airspace and land and sea borders between the State of Qatar and Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, starting this evening," Kuwait Foreign Minister said.
"The Amir of Kuwait made two calls with the Amir of the State of Qatar and the Crown Prince of Saudi Arabia in order to sign the Al-Ula summit statement, and it was agreed to open the entire border between Qatar and Saudi Arabia starting from this evening," he added.
A senior official in Donald Trump administration has also confirmed that a breakthrough has been reached in the conflict, and that an agreement to end the dispute will be signed on Tuesday. The agreement provides for Saudi Arabia, the UAE, Bahrain and Egypt to lift the blockade on Qatar and Doha to abandon the lawsuits related to it. White House adviser Jared Kushner helped negotiate the agreement to resolve the Gulf crisis and will attend the signing ceremony with two other officials.
The news is being aired by media in Saudi Arabia as well.Â
Speaking on TV, the Kuwait FM said the Amir of Kuwait has made calls with the Amir of Qatar and the Saudi Crown Prince in order to sign the "Al-Ula summit statement".
He said the Gulf Cooperation Council summit to be held in Riyadh on Tuesday would be an inclusive summit and "all relevant issues" would be addressed.
