Qatar & United Kingdom Sign MoU
Within the framework of the state visit of HH the Amir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al-Thani to the United Kingdom, the State of Qatar, represented by the Ministry of Finance, signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with the Treasury of HM the King of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland to enhance cooperation in the fields of financial services.
The MoU was signed on behalf of Qatar by HE Minister of Finance Ali bin Ahmed Al Kuwari, and on behalf of the United Kingdom by HE Chancellor of the Exchequer Rachel Reeves.
The MoU aims to enhance cooperation in the areas of financial services by supporting economic growth, entrepreneurship, and wealth creation across the UK and Qatar, facilitating investment, promoting high regulatory standards to set an international example, and allowing companies and investors to operate with confidence and trust in the operation of the market.
The Ministry of Finance organized a reception in cooperation with HM's Treasury of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland in the presence of a number of officials from financial institutions, bodies, and banks in both countries.
