Qatar, Swiss Federal Council Sign MoU

The Government of the State of Qatar, represented by the Ministry of Finance, has signed Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Swiss Federal Council, represented by the Federal Department of Finance, to form a Joint Commission on financial and economic areas to develop and enhance relations between the two countries.

The MOU was signed by HE Minister of Finance Ali bin Ahmed Al Kuwari and HE Head of the Federal Department of Finance of the Swiss Confederation Ueli Maurer.

Commenting on the agreement, HE Ali bin Ahmed Al Kuwari said that "The MoU signed today is part of Qatars on-going initiatives to continuously improve its business and desiring to promote and strengthen bilateral relations between the two countries in the areas of financial and economic areas for mutual benefit."

For his part, HE Ueli Maurer said, "I am looking forward to furthering our mutual interests in financial services and other economic areas."

This new partnership paves the way for future cooperation in formulating proposals on strengthening and promoting financial and economic relations between the two countries, as well as exchanging and coordinating various aspects of cooperation. (QNA)
