Qatar’s Deputy Prime Minister Joins Multinational Military Mission Meeting on Strait of Hormuz
HE Sheikh Saoud bin Abdulrahman bin Hassan AlâThani, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of State for Defense Affairs, took part in the Multinational Military Mission meeting on the Strait of Hormuz, joining via video conference at the invitation of HE John Healey, UK Secretary of State for Defense, and HE Catherine Vautrin, French Minister of the Armed Forces and Veterans Affairs.
The meeting focused on facilitating freedom of navigation and ensuring maritime flows in the Strait of Hormuz, following the agreement reached on the current crisis. Discussions underscored the importance of coordinated international efforts to safeguard one of the worldâs most critical trade corridors and to reinforce regional stability.
Qatarâs participation reflects its ongoing commitment to collective security frameworks and to supporting initiatives that uphold international law, maritime safety, and freedom of passage in global waterways.
