Qatar's Al Maha Meshal Al Ali
Qatar's Al Maha Meshal Al Ali on Tuesday claimed silver in the 7th Arab Women Sports Tournament (AWST) in Sharjah, the UAE.
The 17-year-old finished second in the 10-meter air rifle against senior contestants from Kuwait, Bahrain, Iraq, the UAE and Oman.
Vice President of the Shooting Sports Club, Nayef Mohammed Al Meer, who presides over the Qatari delegation to the event, hailed Al Ali's achievement and the Qatari shooters' performance despite severe competition with veteran shooters.
Al Meer extended thanks to HE President of the Qatar Olympic Committee (QOC) Sheikh Joaan bin Hamad Al-Thani for his unlimited support for shooting sport.
Organized by the Sharjah Women's Sports, the AWST runs through Feb. 12 and brings together 550 athletes from 14 countries.
