Qatar and China Discuss Strengthening Strategic Relations

Beijing, September 7, 2026 : HE Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman bin Jassim Al-Thani met with Premier of the State Council of the People's Republic of China Li Qiang in Beijing on Monday to discuss ways to strengthen and expand the strategic partnership between Qatar and China.

The meeting focused on enhancing bilateral cooperation across several key sectors, including trade, investment, energy, technology, and the economy. The two sides also explored opportunities to expand existing partnerships and advance cooperation in areas of shared interest.

The discussions also covered a number of regional and international developments, with both sides exchanging views on issues of mutual concern.

HE Sheikh Mohammed reaffirmed Qatar's commitment to further developing its relations with China and elevating bilateral cooperation to broader horizons. He emphasized the importance of advancing the partnership in a way that supports the shared objectives and interests of both countries and their peoples.
