Qatar World Cup 10 Ball Championship
The World Pool Championship (10-ball) kicked off today, hosted by the Qatar Billiards and Snooker Federation, and will run until December 14. The tournament features 240 players from nearly 50 countries.
The opening day marked the start of the first stage of the competition, with 128 players competing over four consecutive days, until next Saturday. This stage will result in the qualification of 16 players to the second stage, with four players advancing each day.
The second stage of the tournament will include 112 ranked players, alongside the 16 qualifiers from the first stage. A draw will be held to determine the matchups based on rankings, with the competition progressing in a knockout format until the final match.
In the second phase, six Qatari players will participate, Ali Al Obaidli, Mohanna Al Obaidli, Khamees Al Obaidli, Bashar Hussein, Abdul Latif Al Fawal, and Mishaal Al Ali. Meanwhile, 10 Qatari players are competing in the first stage for a chance to secure one of the 16 spots in the second stage.
It is worth noting that Qatar will host the World Pool Championship (10-ball) for five consecutive years, starting with this edition and continuing through 2028.
