Qatar University and the Ministry of Sports Come to an Agreement

A Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) was signed by Qatar University (QU) and the Ministry of Sports and Youth in order to strengthen collaboration and take advantage of both sides' complementary strengths. The MoU covers the creation, administration, management, and execution of training courses and programs to certify cadres engaged in the sports industry. Salah bin Ghanim al-Ali, HE, the Minister of Sports and Youth, Dr. Hassan al-Derham, Dr. Hessa H. al-Thani, Dr. Eiman Mustafawi, the Vice President for Student Affairs at QU, and a number of College of Education academics were all present for the signing. Dr. Omar al-Ansari, vice president for academic affairs at QU, and the head of sports affairs for the Ministry of Sports and Youth , Issa al-Harami. both signed the MoU.The agreement paves the way for both parties to collaborate on the development of certifications for the accreditation of fitness instructors and cadres working in the sports professions, including the satisfaction of their fundamental professional competence based on a particular international standard. The MoU is a result of QU's conviction in the critical and fruitful role of its collaboration with the Ministry of Sports and Youth, which is here represented by the Qatar Sports for All Federation. QU is eager to continue playing a role in enabling the various sectors of the state to profit from its resources and expertise in order to implement its strategy and achieve its goals.
