Qatar Tourism Awards 2024 Travel Influencer Voting Opens

This year, the public will have the power to choose the “Influencer of the Year” in the Qatar Tourism Awards 2024, marking the first time this has been possible. 

The Qatar Tourism Awards, launched last year in partnership with UN Tourism, aim to celebrate individuals and organizations that have significantly promoted Qatar. The “Tourism Influencer (Content Creator) of the Year” award falls under the Digital Footprint category. Unlike other categories, which are no longer accepting submissions, voting for this award is open to the public for the first time.

The awards include seven main categories: Service Excellence, Gastronomic Experiences, Iconic Attractions and Activities, World Class Events, Digital Footprint, Smart and Sustainable Tourism, and Community Leadership. Visit Qatar describes the influencer award as recognizing “someone who has significantly contributed to promoting Qatar as a world-class destination through social media platforms.”

Eligible nominees are content creators who have consistently posted content about Qatar for at least a year. Voting closes on September 9th and can be done via the Visit Qatar website, with one vote per person per entry. Votes can be revoked if needed.

Notable nominees include photographers, influencers, and entrepreneurs such as Abdulaziz Ibrahim Al Ajail, Abdulhadi Saleh Salem Alwakean Al-Marri, Abdulla AlGhafri, Abdullah Darabseh, Fatimah Dhai, Khalifa Al Haroon, Noor Ahmad Al Mazroei, Osama Al-Nassan, Saoud Al Kuwari, and the Tourism in Qatar Platform.

The winner will be determined by a combination of public votes and judges’ scores. The judging panel includes Sheikha Alanoud bint Hamad Al-Thani, Ali bin Towar Al-Kuwari, Eng. Azzam Abdulaziz Al Mannai, Marcel Leijzer, Ramzan Rashid Al Naimi, Prof. Rana Sobh, and Dr. Eng. Abdulla Hassan Al-Mehshadi. The award ceremony will take place at the end of the year.
