The Ministry of Transport (MOT) has issued an important notice, effective Sunday, July 12, 2026, advising all owners and users of maritime vessels to temporarily suspend sailing and all forms of maritime activity until further notice.
The directive applies to a wide range of vessels, including leisure boats, fishing boats, jet skis, and other maritime craft, as part of measures taken in the interest of public safety. The suspension takes effect immediately from the date the notice was published and will remain in force until further updates are issued.
The Ministry clarified that vessels operating under international maritime conventions are exempt from the suspension, provided they continue to comply with the regulations and procedures currently in effect.
The MOT stated that this temporary precautionary measure was taken in coordination with the relevant security authorities, and urged all vessel owners and users to adhere to the directive. It further confirmed that any future updates on the matter will be announced in coordination with the competent authorities through official channels.
