The Qatar Shooting and Archery Federation announced Friday that it will host the 2026 Asian Shotgun Cup, which will be held at Lusail Shooting Ranges from November 15 to 26, 2026, with the participation of elite shooters from the Asian continent.

Jassim Al Sulaiti, Secretary-General of the Qatar Shooting and Archery Federation, confirmed in a special statement to Qatar News Agency (QNA) that choosing Qatar to host the tournament came based on a vote by members of the Executive Office of the Asian Shooting Federation.

He added: "Choosing Qatar to host the 2026 Asian Shotgun Cup is a great honor for us, and an affirmation of Qatar's leading value and position in organizing sporting events and presenting them in the best possible way." He noted: "Over the past years, Qatar has confirmed its position as a distinguished destination for hosting sports tournaments, and we look forward to achieving the highest levels of success during the tournament, which will bring together elite shooters from across the Asian continent." He pointed out that the timing of the tournament is of great importance, as he said that the 2026 Asian Shotgun Cup will be one of the most important stations in preparing for the upcoming Olympic Games in the United States of America (Los Angeles 2028) , and it also comes after the Asian Games that will be held in Japan 2026.

He expressed his aspiration for a distinguished Qatari participation during the tournament competitions, stressing that Qatar has champions in shotgun shooting at the level of the Asian continent and the world, and holding the tournament in Qatar is an opportunity for Qatari shooters to present their best in order to make new achievements that will be added to the honorable record of Qatari shooting.
