Doha, September 14, 2026 : The Qatar Scientific Club, affiliated with the Ministry of Sports and Youth, has launched the second cohort of its Young Inventors Program 2026, building on the success of its inaugural edition in turning Qatari youth's concepts into practical prototypes.

Program Builds on Web Summit 2026 Launch

Originally unveiled during Web Summit 2026, the program equips young innovators with essential skills in design thinking, engineering, and project execution to address real-world challenges.

Strong Interest From Qatari Youth

The new edition has attracted strong interest from young Qatari men and women. Program Director Eng. Hessa Al Najjar said the enthusiastic response reflects a rising passion for innovation among local youth, noting that remote technical interviews have already qualified more than 25 participants, with selections ongoing. She added that the hands-on methodology used in the first cohort provided a solid blueprint for refining this edition.

First Cohort Produced Seven Prototype Projects

The inaugural cohort saw 35 participants successfully develop seven prototype projects across key sectors. Highlights included SAAD, an acoustic drone-detection system; VitaGuard, a wearable worker safety monitor; Qsmart Cast, an infection-tracking smart orthopedic cast; Hemayatak Awla, a cyber-breach detection tool; FIRE AIM, a thermal-guided firefighting system; Air Guardian, a toxic gas detection network; and Hydro Saver, a portable solar desalination unit for emergency settings.

Program Supports Qatar's Innovation-Driven Economy

Through mentorship, specialized workshops, and access to advanced prototyping laboratories, the Qatar Scientific Club continues to empower young talent, supporting Qatar's broader vision of fostering an innovation-driven, knowledge-based economy.
