Qatar has reiterated its steadfast commitment to advancing the rights of women and girls, rooted in the principles of equality, justice, and fairness.

This declaration was made by Fatima Al Mannai, Second Secretary at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, during the interactive dialogue with the Special Rapporteur on violence against women and girls at the 56th session of the Human Rights Council in Geneva.

Al Mannai emphasized that Qatar prioritizes the protection of women and girls from all forms of violence. She noted that Qatar's efforts are driven by a societal and institutional framework based on religious teachings and cultural values, aimed at upholding women's dignity and enhancing their status and role in society. She also condemned all acts of violence and discrimination against women and girls, regardless of the perpetrators, locations, or identities of the victims.

Expressing concern over the persistent prevalence of violence and exploitation against women and girls, including those facilitated by modern technology and artificial intelligence, Al Mannai stressed the importance of ensuring equal access to quality education and fair, safe employment opportunities for women and girls.

She highlighted the necessity of addressing the root causes that lead to the vulnerability of women and girls and preventing their involvement in activities that compromise their rights and dignity.
