The State of Qatar participated in the official opening ceremony of the Hannover International Industrial Fair 2023, which was inaugurated by HE Chancellor of the Federal Republic of Germany Olaf Scholz and HE President of the Republic of Indonesia Joko Widodo as the guest country for this year's edition. The Fair will run until April 21 in Hanover, Germany.

The State of Qatar was represented at the ceremony by HE Undersecretary of the Ministry of Commerce and Industry (MoCI) Sultan bin Rashid Al Khater who inaugurated the State of Qatar's pavilion in the exhibition.

An MoCI statement stated today that the State of Qatar is participating in this exhibition with a pavilion of a total area of about 406 square meters, and has a number of specialized agencies in the industrial field from both the government and private sectors, including the MoCI, the Investment Promotion Agency, and the Free Zones Authority, Qatar Science and Technology Park, Qatar Financial Center, Qatar Chamber, in addition to a number of private companies.

Qatar's pavilion introduces the leading Qatari industries and the latest technologies and technological developments in the industrial sector in the country. The exhibition represents an important opportunity to exchange expertise and experiences, present Qatari companies and industries, open the way for creating distinguished partnerships between Qatari companies and international companies, enhance cooperation between them, and learn about the most prominent global experiences and technical development in the industrial sector.

During its participation in the exhibition, the MoCI will present the advantages of the investment environment in the State of Qatar and shed light on the laws and legislation that have been approved to stimulate domestic and foreign investment, including the law regulating the investment of non-Qatari capital in economic activity, and the law regulating partnership between the two government and private sectors. In addition, it reviewed the incentives and advantages offered to investors, including the exemption of foreign capital invested from income tax for a period of up to ten years for specific investment projects in many sectors, and exemption from customs taxes and fees when importing equipment and raw materials, in addition to presenting the services that are provided to investors to facilitate procedures related to investment applications, establishing companies and completing transactions.

The Ministry will also highlight investment opportunities available in the industrial sector, Qatar's national strategy for manufacturing industries, goals it seeks to achieve by 2030, and growth prospects for the manufacturing sector.

The participating entities within the State of Qatar's pavilion will review the most prominent initiatives provided by the state in order to attract and stimulate investments in the industrial sector and strengthen the state's strategy to encourage the private sector and support investors to attract foreign capital, in addition to highlighting Qatari industries in various sectors, the latest technological developments, practical techniques and advanced equipment in the industrial sector, as well as presenting available investment opportunities and clarifying the incentives offered and the privileges granted to investors, businessmen and entrepreneurs to invest in various industries, to open the way for them to participate effectively in the movement of domestic and foreign investment in the State of Qatar and contribute to the country's economic development.

In addition, the participating entities organize a number of workshops and specialized presentations to introduce the most prominent distinguished projects and initiatives, in addition to the incentives, facilities and investment opportunities provided by the state to attract more foreign direct investments, especially in the industrial sector. During workshops and presentations, exchange of information, expertise and experiences take place, in addition to discussing the most prominent issues related to the industry sector.

The exhibition program includes a number of panel discussions highlighting a wide range of topics such as industrial automation, cloud technologies, digital infrastructure, digital platforms, robots, information security technology, artificial intelligence, green hydrogen, energy efficiency, carbon dioxide neutral production, digital energy and economy management and other important axes.
