Qatar Organizes Awareness Programs to Mark World Cleanup Day 2026

Doha, September 16, 2026 : Qatar’s Ministry of Municipality is organizing a series of awareness and community initiatives to mark World Cleanup Day 2026, with the aim of promoting public cleanliness, environmental awareness, and sustainable practices.

The activities, taking place from September 13 to 19, bring together government and private-sector entities, volunteers, and members of the wider community.

As part of the program, the Ministry’s Public Cleanliness Department organized an awareness event attended by more than 300 students from different educational levels. The event included interactive workshops, cultural competitions, and activities focused on waste separation and recycling.

Meanwhile, the Al Daayen and Al Rayyan municipalities, in cooperation with the Public Cleanliness Department, organized beach-cleaning campaigns at Semaisma and Abu Samra beaches.

The initiatives aim to strengthen public awareness of the importance of maintaining clean beaches and public spaces, promote a culture of shared environmental responsibility, and encourage community participation in protecting Qatar’s natural resources.
