Qatar National Library received a selection of books from Latin American countries during a special ceremony, marking a significant milestone in its mission to promote cultural understanding.

The ceremony, held at the Library yesterday, featured Minister of State and President of Qatar National Library H E Dr. Hamad bin Abdulaziz Al Kawari, along with Peru’s Ambassador to Qatar and Dean of the Group of Latin America and Caribbean (GRULAC) Embassies to Qatar, Jose Benzaquen, and other ambassadors from GRULAC countries.

This event is part of the Library’s ongoing initiatives to promote knowledge exchange and strengthen cultural ties with diplomatic missions. The donated books cover a wide range of topics and highlight the rich history and heritage of Peru, Guatemala, Mexico, Costa Rica, Dominican Republic, Panama, Argentina, Venezuela, Uruguay, Guyana, El Salvador, Ecuador, Cuba, Haiti, and Paraguay.

H E Dr. Al Kawari stated that the event reflects Qatar’s collaborative spirit and its policy of openness to the world.

“We are grateful to the countries that contributed today to further advance our mission of fostering knowledge exchange and promoting a better understanding of various cultures, including South America’s rich heritage,” H E Dr. Al Kawari added.

This donation enhances the Library’s expanding collection, which includes books in various languages from countries around the world.
