Qatar National Library summer camp

Qatar National Library has lined up a busy July for all ages. The schedule covers heritage conservation, STEM activities, creative arts, and career training. At its core sits the Library's Seventh Summer Camp for young learners. Programs welcome toddlers all the way through teenagers this season.

Heritage webinar opens the month

July begins with a special session for heritage professionals on July 1. Qatar National Library serves as the IFLA PAC Regional Centre for the Arab Region. Romana Delaporte from Cultural Emergency Response will lead the webinar. The topic covers emergency grants available for cultural heritage projects. Delaporte's organization supports heritage threatened by conflict or natural disaster. The session explains grant eligibility, application steps, and selection criteria. Maxim Nasra, the Library's preservation head, will moderate the discussion. Librarians, archivists, and museum specialists are encouraged to attend.

Summer reading challenge fights the slide

The 2026 Summer Reading Challenge also launches on July 1. Qatar National Library partners with the Kutubee reading platform for this program. Children aged 6 to 14 can join the six week challenge. It runs until August 15, with winners announced in September. The program aims to prevent learning loss during the summer break. Kids work toward goals matched to their specific age group. This builds language skills, knowledge, and critical thinking together. The challenge also nurtures creativity through consistent daily reading habits.

Summer camp opens with four learning tracks

The Seventh Summer Camp begins on July 15 this year. Each track targets a different age group with tailored activities. Toddlers aged 1 to 4 join a bilingual play camp. This track features sensory toys, art, and storytelling sessions. Children aged 7 to 12 can join interactive storytelling with puppetry. This program builds listening skills and sparks imaginative thinking. Kids aged 7 to 10 can explore a hands on STEM track. This activity blends science, technology, engineering, and math concepts. Teenagers aged 13 to 17 can join the Make with Me workshop. This creative session encourages artistic expression through hands on crafts.
