The Education Ministry declares an extended weekend holiday from April 8
In light of current regional developments and in coordination with relevant state authorities, the Ministry of Education and Higher Education has declared an extended weekend holiday effective today, April 8, 2026.
The decision applies to all government schools, educational institutions, and nurseries, and will remain in place until the end of the week. This precautionary measure replaces the previously scheduled holiday dates of April 22–23, ensuring the safety and well‑being of students, staff, and the wider educational community.
The Ministry expressed appreciation for the cooperation of parents and students, while commending the dedication of administrative and academic staff in continuing to fulfill their educational mission under challenging circumstances.
Officials reaffirmed their commitment to closely monitoring developments in coordination with state authorities and pledged to provide timely updates through official channels.
The statement concluded with prayers for the protection of Qatar, its Amir, its people, and all residents.
