The State of Qatar celebrates World Environment Day 2022, which falls on June,5 every year, and is celebrated this year under the slogan "Only One Earth".
On this occasion, the Ministry of Environment and Climate Change organizes many related events within the framework of the country's great interest in protecting the environment and maintaining its various components and elements.
Through this celebration, the Ministry aims to develop environmental awareness among various segments of society, and activate positive participation in preserving the Qatari environment.
In this regard, the Director of Public Relations at the Ministry of Environment and Climate Change Farhoud Al-Hajri, said in a statement to Qatar News Agency (QNA) that World Environment Day is an important occasion to raise awareness and remind the need to protect the environment with all its elements and components, noting that Qatar's celebration of this day every year confirms the extent of its interest in the environment and its preservation, especially as it is one of the pillars of Qatar National Vision 2030, as well as its solidarity with the international community in all matters concerned with environmental issues, which have become a global affair that receives all care and attention.
The world celebrated the World Environment Day for the first time in 1972, the same year in which the United Nations Environment Program was launched, which is based in the Kenyan capital, Nairobi.Â
