The Qatari national team finished runner-up in the 17th Gulf Men's Basketball Championship after losing to Bahrain 68-73 in the final on Saturday.

The match results were 19-16, 39-30, 62-46, 73-68 for Bahrain.

Team Qatar failed to win the 7 titles in the championship, while the Bahraini team claimed their first title.

The Gulf Basketball Championship was launched in 1981, and Kuwait won the first title. The latest edition was held in 2019, when Saudi Arabia won their fourth title.
