FEI General Assembly
The Qatar Equestrian Federation (QEF) participated in the General Assembly meeting of the International Equestrian Federation (FEI), held in Abu Dhabi, UAE, with the presence of FEI President Ingmar De Vos and representatives from 137 countries.
The Qatari delegation was headed by HE Sheikh Ahmad bin Nooh Al-Thani, Secretary-General of the QEF.
The three-day meetings addressed a range of topics concerning FEI governance, budget allocation, development initiatives, and support programs for horses, event organizers, and owners. Discussions also focused on the planning and organization of championships listed on the FEI calendar.
During the assembly, elections were held for several FEI committees, accompanied by discussions on key issues aimed at advancing equestrian sports worldwide.
The Qatari delegation actively participated in the meeting of the FEIs Seventh Regional Group, which reviewed various agenda items with group leaders and committee heads. The meeting also explored preliminary proposals and ideas, sought member approvals, and finalized technical details for the group's annual technical meeting scheduled to take place in Sharjah, UAE, in early February.
Through its participation in this prestigious international event, the Qatar Equestrian Federation reinforced Qatars global standing as a prominent hub for equestrianism. This comes as Doha prepares to host the second edition of the Doha International Equestrian Tours early next year, welcoming elite riders from around the world to compete in show jumping at the highest international standards.
