Qatar national team seized today's gold and silver medals in the West Asian U-20 Fencing Championship in Jordans Amman.

Qatar participated in the tournament with 11 players (5 girls and 6 boys), and they are: Jaber Al-Fadaq, Muhammad Al-Olan, Muhammad Al-Hazza, Mishaal Al-Qahtani, Khaled Aref, Abdullah Khalifa, Sheikha Al-Abdullah, Haya Diab, Lina Al-Buainain, Dana Al-Buainain, Sarah Diab, and the mission is headed by Assistant Secretary of the Qatar Fencing Federation Fahad Al Mulla.

Qatar's Khaled Aref managed to win the U-20 silver medal in the fluorescent competition after beating Jordan's Elias Al-Zumar in the final match, while the Qatari female team achieved the silver in the U-20 epee weapons competitions by the players Haya Diab, Sarah Diab, Sheikha Al-Abdullah and Dana Al-Buainain.

With this result, the Qatar's team raised its total to 6 colored medals in the championship with 2 gold, 2 silver and 2 bronze, the epee gold medal U-17 by Jaber Al-Fadaq, the fluorescent gold U-20 by Khaled Aref, the epee silver medal U-17 by Haya Theyab, the epee U-20 female teams and the epee bronze U-15 by Sheikha Al-Abdullah, and the fluorescent bronze medal U-17 for Lina Al-Buainain.
The Qatari national team will conclude its participation in the West Asian Fencing Championship in the category of teams for Boys U-20 on Wednesday.

The U-20 West Asian Fencing Championship is attended by 150 players representing 11 countries, Qatar, Palestine, Oman, Kuwait, Syria, Yemen, Saudi Arabia, Emirates, Iraq, Lebanon, as well as Jordan, the host.
