India’s Minister for Railways urged Qatari and Indian business leaders to actively participate in India’s growth journey

India’s Minister for Railways, Communications, Electronics, and Information Technology, H E Ashwini Vaishnaw, urged Qatari and Indian business leaders to actively participate in India’s growth trajectory. The appeal was made during a luncheon meeting organized by the Indian Business and Professionals Council, Qatar, where Ambassador of India to Qatar H E Vipul was also in attendance.

Minister Vaishnaw highlighted India's anticipated growth rate of 6 to 8% over the next decade and encouraged businesses to align their plans accordingly. He emphasized collaboration opportunities in developing railway terminals, shipping, ports, as well as joint ventures in the production of chips, chipsets, and semiconductors. The minister invited the business community to engage in these opportunities and become integral to India’s journey of growth.

During his visit to Qatar for the Web Summit Qatar 2024, Minister Vaishnaw shared insights into India’s transformative economic and societal changes driven by advancements in physical and digital public infrastructure. He also addressed digital achievements, including the international adoption of India’s UPI digital payment system.

Additionally, the minister extended an invitation for investors to participate in India's flourishing startup ecosystem, emphasizing the potential for establishing incubation centers to capture significant value at various stages of startup growth. The visit facilitated discussions on expanding the India-Qatar partnership across diverse sectors.
