Transport Ministry confirms full resumption of maritime navigation from April 12
The Ministry of Transport has confirmed the complete return of maritime navigation for all categories of vessels and ships, effective Sunday, April 12, 2026. Operations will be permitted daily between 06:00 a.m. and 06:00 p.m., in line with the Ministry’s latest directive.
In its statement, the Ministry clarified that vessels licensed for fishing activities will continue to enjoy unrestricted sailing throughout the day, as per earlier guidance. The announcement marks a significant step toward restoring maritime activity following recent precautionary restrictions.
The Ministry urged all operators to strictly adhere to safety and compliance requirements, emphasizing the importance of ensuring that all necessary security and safety equipment is available and functioning before and during voyages. Officials stressed that these measures are essential to guaranteeing the highest standards of safety for crews, passengers, and cargo.
The directive reflects Qatar’s broader commitment to maintaining safe navigation and fair maritime services, reinforcing the country’s role as a hub for secure and transparent maritime operations.
