Qatar affirms support for Pakistan mediation, warns against escalation

Qatar has reiterated its active diplomatic engagement amid ongoing tensions, confirming that it remains in constant contact with all parties, including the United States, as preparations continue for the Islamabad talks.

Advisor to the Prime Minister and Ministry of Foreign Affairs spokesperson Dr. Majed bin Mohammed Al‑Ansari stated that Gulf countries are also engaged in daily coordination to help resolve the US–Israel confrontation with Iran. He emphasized Qatar’s full support for Pakistan’s mediation efforts, noting strong international backing for the talks and cautioning against premature claims of failure.

Dr. Al‑Ansari further underscored Qatar’s commitment to regional stability, reiterating support for Lebanon’s sovereignty and condemning Israeli attacks. He warned that any prolonged closure of the Strait of Hormuz could have far‑reaching global consequences, escalating the crisis beyond the region.

Qatar stressed that its diplomatic efforts remain focused on de‑escalation, dialogue, and safeguarding regional security, while continuing to coordinate closely with partners to prevent further deterioration of the situation.
