The Qatar Football Association (QFA) took part in a FIFA workshop on talent development, held in Brisbane, Australia.

Fahad Abdullah Thani Al Zaraa, Director of the Development Department at QFA and Project Officer for FIFA's Talent Development Scheme (TDS) in Qatar, represented the association alongside a distinguished group of international experts.

The workshop aimed to foster the exchange of knowledge and best practices among member associations, enhancing systems and mechanisms for talent identification while strengthening the foundations of player development.

During the event, FIFA representatives and officials from the TDS engaged with participants from 13 countries across four continental federations. The interactive discussions encouraged the sharing of ideas and proposals, paving the way for new avenues of collaboration and partnerships.

A key focus of the workshop was the emphasis on continuous learning and openness to innovative approaches. Topics covered included talent discovery and development, coach training, and the growth of national teams in various age categories.

Fahad Thani Al Zaraa highlighted the TDS as a critical priority for many countries, where tailored programs are implemented to identify and nurture talent, ensuring optimal investment in player development.

He further noted the significant progress of Asian football in recent years, across both men's and women's divisions. He emphasized the importance of aligning with the latest advancements to build a sustainable foundation for future generations and maximize opportunities for talent development through scientific and systematic methods.
