Doha
Under the patronage of HE Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman bin Jassim Al-Thani, the Ministry of Justice is set to convene the first Doha Legal Forum from Jan. 26 to 27, 2026.
Held in collaboration with Qatar International Court and Dispute Resolution Centre (QICDRC), the forum brings together a contingent of justice ministers, in-the-know law experts, justice policymakers, alongside experts and specialists from around the world.
This event demonstrates the State of Qatar's standing as a hub for legal dialogue and sharing expertise on both the regional and global stages.
The forum intends to highlight the characteristics of the legislative environment in Qatar and its role in supporting and attracting foreign investment through exploring legal and regulatory frameworks associated with investment and emerging technologies, as well as issues of governance and investment dispute settlement mechanisms in Qatari law.
The event broadly spotlights the legislative and institutional steps taken to address legal challenges that could affect investment flow, thereby fostering confidence in the business environment and undergirding the sustainable development pathway and economic transformation.
The forum is a leading global platform to strengthen the rule of law and envision the future of legislation and the judiciary, in addition to shining a spotlight on the legal frameworks of vital economic sectors and their role in having a secure and attractive investment environment in place through sharing expertise and exploring state-of-the-art updates in both Qatari and comparative laws.
As the largest legal event to convene in Qatar, the forum plays a significant role in explaining the legislative and regulatory characteristics of critical and emerging sectors, enabling investors to understand the legal frameworks relevant to their activities. The forum also promotes dialogue between the public and private sectors, alongside legal experts, and helps enhance the business climate and support partnerships between those two sectors.
The forum strives to put forward practical recommendations that contribute to advancing legislation in alignment with global standards, supporting domestic and foreign investment, addressing legal challenges related to digital transformation and artificial intelligence, and bolstering governance and transparency principles. These recommendations would also play a part in enhancing legal frameworks for the financial, enterprise, and energy sectors, thereby deepening a stable and reliable business environment, and ultimately strengthening Qatar's standing as a regional and global legal hub supportive of economic growth and sustainable development.
