Palestinian Presidential Spokesman Nabil Abu Rudeineh said that the agreements and understandings announced by the Israeli right-wing coalition effectively mean abandoning the bilateral agreements signed under international auspices and that they constitute a blatant challenge to the decisions of international legitimacy, and establish a new phase in violation of international law.
Abu Rudeineh added that any Israeli attempt to give legitimacy to the settlements built on the land of the State of Palestine is rejected and condemned, and these attempts will not give legitimacy to anyone, stressing that Security Council Resolution No. 2334 clearly declared that all forms of settlement are illegal on the occupied Palestinian territories, including East Jerusalem.
The Presidency spokesman indicated that the US administration is required to clearly define its position on these Israeli understandings that defy international legitimacy and the positions of the international community, including the official US position itself, according to Palestine news agency (WAFA).
Abu Rudeineh said that the Palestine Liberation Organization (PLO) has the final word, and the Palestinian people and its leadership will not allow anyone to transgress the legitimate Palestinian rights, foremost of which is the right to self-determination and the embodiment of the establishment of the State of Palestine on the entire Palestinian territory occupied in 1967, noting that Jerusalem will remain with its sanctities greater than all their agreements and plans aimed at liquidating the Palestinian cause.
