PUBLIC HOLIDAYS IN QATAR 2024
Who doesn't love a holiday? Whether you’re planning on traveling abroad or simply taking time off from work to relax, here is a list of some of the public holidays in Qatar this year that can help you plan ahead.
The first holiday of the year is on the 13th of February marking Qatar’s National Sports Day. There are a great many sporting events, game shows, marathons and family activities all around Doha to mark this day. Aspire Sports Complex in particular, hosts some of the most happening games and events for the Sports Day celebrations. You can read about last year’s celebrations - Qatar National Sports Day 2023.
The next holiday is a Bank Holiday observed on the first Sunday of the month of March every year. This year, the holiday falls on 5 March, although other public sectors are to continue as usual.
The Eid al-Fitr public holidays fall between the dates of Wednesday April 10 to Friday April 12, followed by the Eid al-Adha holidays after a stretch of 2 months, from Monday June 17Â to Wednesday June 19.
The last public holiday of the year is on the 18th of December 2023- Qatar National Day. The day is usually celebrated with many different events and family activities around the country. Last year however, the national parades and fireworks for Qatar National Day 2023 were canceled in solidarity with Palestine and their cause.
