OIC Condemns Attack on Internal Security Forces Bus Near Damascus

The Organisation of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) has strongly condemned an attack targeting a bus carrying members of Syria’s Internal Security Forces in the Damascus countryside.

The incident occurred on the Maarounah–Al-Tall road, where an explosive device detonated on the bus, injuring several security personnel.

OIC Reaffirms Rejection of Terrorism

In a statement, OIC Secretary-General Hissein Brahim Taha reaffirmed the organisation’s rejection of terrorism in all its forms and manifestations. He also expressed the OIC’s full solidarity with the Syrian Arab Republic following the attack.

Call for Stronger Counter-Terrorism Efforts

Taha called for stronger efforts to combat terrorism in order to consolidate security and stability in Syria and across the wider region.

Security Personnel Injured in Blast

According to the Syrian Arab News Agency, several members of the Internal Security Forces were injured when the explosive device detonated on their bus in the Damascus countryside. Further details about the condition of those injured were not immediately provided.
