OCA President Attends Japanese Olympic Committee Reception in Nagoya

Nagoya, Japan, September 20, 2026 : HE President of the Olympic Council of Asia (OCA), Sheikh Joaan bin Hamad Al-Thani, attended a reception hosted by the Japanese Olympic Committee (JOC) on the sidelines of the 20th Asian Games Aichi-Nagoya 2026.

The reception was also attended by International Olympic Committee (IOC) President Kirsty Coventry, along with a number of prominent Olympic officials, sports leaders, and representatives from Asia and around the world.

The gathering provided an opportunity for participants to exchange views, strengthen communication, and discuss avenues for cooperation aimed at supporting athletes and advancing sports development at both the continental and international levels.

The event also highlighted the role of sport in promoting dialogue, strengthening ties among communities, and bringing people and cultures closer together.
