UK adds Qatar to ‘amber list’ reducing travel restrictions
The British embassy in Doha has announced on twitter that the UK has decided to add Qatar to its ‘amber list’. This decision that becomes effective from Sunday August 8, 6:00 am will no longer require travelers to undergo 10-day hotel quarantine.
Travelers who have been vaccinated in the United Kingdom, the United States, or the European Union must still isolate for 10 days at a private home.
Travelers arriving in England can choose the test to release scheme and, on the fifth day, if their covid-19 test is negative, they may be eligible to finish their isolation early. Travelers should schedule their covid-19 tests before arriving in the UK so that they may be administered once they arrive.
The UK embassy further added that, “We've been working with the Government of Qatar and would like to thank them for their cooperation.”
More details on the UK traffic light system can be found on UK government website.
