Doha, Qatar
Qatar on Friday reported 221 new cases of coronavirus and with 193 people recovered from the virus in the last 24 hours. This brings to 226,996 total number of people who have recovered.
Of the new cases, 143 are community cases and 78 of travellers returning from abroad. The total death toll in the country from Covid-19 stands at 601 fatalities.
A total of 25,648 doses of Covid-19 vaccines have been administered during the past 24 hours. The total number of administered since the start of the vaccination campaign is 4,228,126 doses.
The total number of positive Covid-19 cases recorded in Qatar till now is 230,442 and there are 2,845 active cases under treatment.
A total of 6,462 people were tested for the first time in the last 24 hours (24,736 tests in total) taking the total done so far to 2,444,752 tests.
Three people were admitted to intensive care in the last 24 hours and 19 people continue to receive medical attention in ICU.
There were eight cases of hospital admissions in the last 24 hours taking to 94 the total number of patients in hospital.
With the recent increase in the number of COVID-19 cases in Qatar, it is important for everyone to play their role in controlling the virus by following precautionary measures:
- Adherence to physical distancing.
- Avoid close contact with others, crowded places and confined closed spaces where other people congregate.
- Wearing a face mask
- Washing hands regularly.
