Qatar News Agency (QNA) participated in the activities of the 11th National Sport Day, as it organized a march on the Doha Corniche with the participation of several journalists, employees, and workers.

In a statement in this regard, QNA Director-General Ahmed bin Said Al Rumaihi said that QNA's participation in this day comes in implementation of the Amiri Decision No. 80 of 2011, which stipulated that "Tuesday" of the second week of February of each year shall be a sports day for the state, in an unprecedented and unique initiative of the State of Qatar which aims to practice sports and encourage future generations to practice it so that members of society, especially young people, enjoy a healthy lifestyle via sports programs and various events, which is a commitment in Qatar National Vision 2030.

Al Rumaihi indicated that the National Sport Day has become a holiday for sports and athletes in the country, noting that the infrastructure established by the country and the facilities of the World Cup have made Qatar a great stadium to practice all sports activities on the National Sport Day, which is held this year in the open air, under the slogan "Sports is Life. He pointed out the importance of sport and its ability to help prevent chronic diseases, enhance self-confidence, and get close to others.

QNA Director-General praised the decisions and measures taken to prevent the COVID-19 spread, as the National Sport Day Committee announced that this year's activities will be held with the participation of 15 people from the vaccinators who completed the vaccination doses, in group activities, and five individuals who did not complete the vaccination doses, such as children under the age of 12 for individual games, provided that they must show what confirms that they are COVID-19 free, with the necessity of everyone's commitment to showing the "Ehteraz" application, provided that the status is green, in addition to adhering to the precautionary requirements and procedures, to achieve the primary goal of holding the National Sport Day.

He also praised allocating Lusail Gymnasium to the women's activities of the National Sport Day to practice gymnastics, fitness, and other games with complete privacy, under the title "Discover your sport."
