Ministry of Public Health reports 197 Covid-19 cases

The Ministry of Public Health (MoPH) today reported that there are 197 new cases of coronavirus (Covid-19) and 146 individuals have so far recovered from the virus during the past 24 hours, which brings the total number of people recovered in Qatar to 225,566.
Among the new 197 Covid-19 cases, 117 have been infected from the community and 80 contacted the virus while traveling from abroad.
MOPH reported no deaths in the country today, as the total death toll due to the deadly virus stays at 601.Â
According to the data, three individuals were admitted in the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) over the last 24 hours, and therefore 24 people continue to receive medical attention in ICU.Â
Eleven persons were hospitalised due to Covid-19 during the past 24 hours, and the overall number of patients in the hospital currently is 85.Â
The total number of current active cases in Qatar is 2,376 and the total number of covid positive cases recorded so far in Qatar is 228,543.
5,275 tests were done for the first time in the last 24 hours and a total of 21,602 tests were done during the past 24 hours and the total tests done so far is 2,397,102 tests.Â
26,019 doses of Covid-19 vaccines have been administered during the past 24 hours. The overall number of vaccine doses administered since the start of the vaccination campaign is 4,038,555.Â
What you can do to avoid contacting the virus?
As the cases of Covid-19 increases in the State of Qatar, it is significant for all individual to contribute their effective part in curbing the virus by adhering to the mandatory preventive measures imposed by the government:
•   Maintaining safe and social distances in the public arenas.
•   Must avoid close contact with others individual who are in crowded places and confined closed spaces where other people congregate.
•   Wearing a face mask at all times.
•   Washing and sanitising hands at regular intervals.
Any individual suffering from COVID-19 symptoms must immediately contact the helpline number 16000. This is vital as the earlier the disease is detected the easier it will be to receive the right treatment and recover from it.
