Ministry prosecutes seven for misusing social media platform

The designated officials at the Ministry of Interior (MOI) has intensified efforts in prosecuting seven people in the country for misusing social media by spreading untrue news and provoking contents with racialism and tribal strife.
MOI informed this in an Arabic statement on its social media platform.
The relevant authorities at MOI captured the contents published in the violators accounts were regarding several accusations and false news and were sent to the public prosecution for further questioning.Â
The ministry authotities has affirmed that it will not refrain from taking legal actions against those individuals who spreads false news and incites racist discourse in order to threaten the security, stability and social peace of society, and urged all the social media users not to offend any component of society, whether on tribal or racist grounds, emphasising that the solidarity and firmness of the Qatari society is the responsibility of each individual.
