Doha Metro
Due to closures on Corniche road, Doha Metro will be open for the public on Friday, August 6, 2021, from 2 pm to 23:59, announced Qatar Rail on its social media.
The essential metro system upgrades, that will make way for increasing the network capacity and increasing the frequency, will continue on the following Fridays - August 13 and August 20. As a result, the services will continue to be suspended on these two days.
Ashghal had announced a temporary traffic closure of Corniche in both directions starting from August 6, 12 am to August 10 until 5 am to facilitate the completion of construction works of the Corniche Street Development Project.
The Metro in another tweet added that during the closures on Corniche road, all 37 metro stations will remain open and accessible for its commuters.
The metrolink and metroexpress services will also continue to operate during the road closures, however, some routes have been temporarily diverted in order to access the metro stations.
