The Qatar Football Association has announced that the final of the 50th Amir Cup will be played on Friday, March 18, 2022, at Khalifa International Stadium, a venue for the FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022 that has witnessed some unforgettable matches and significant events.

Khalifa International Stadium, which was redeveloped and reopened as the first stadium ready to host the FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022 is one of the most famous sporting venues in the region, having hosted many important tournaments, matches and events during its long history, such as the fourth, eleventh and twenty-fourth editions of the Arabian Gulf Cup, the opening ceremony of the 2006 Asian Games, the 2011 AFC Asian Cup, and other events that remain prominent in the annals of Qatari football and sport.

As part of the preparations for the FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022, the Khalifa International Stadium hosted a number of international events over the past few years since its redevelopment, including the FIFA Club World Cup.

Built in 1976 in Al Rayyan, Khalifa International Stadium has long been the cornerstone of the country’s sporting tradition – and the gatekeeper to its promising future.
