Cabinet Decides to Continue Qatar's Current COVID-19 Precautionary Measures By Qatar Day - July 29, 2021

Prime Minister and Minister of Interior H E Sheikh Khalid bin Khalifa bin Abdulaziz Al Thani chaired the Cabinet’s regular meeting held at its seat at the Amiri Diwan on Wednesday.

At the outset of the meeting, the Cabinet was briefed by the Minister of Public Health on the latest developments in efforts to curb Covid-19. The Cabinet affirmed the continuation of work with the procedures and precautionary measures that have been taken in order to combat this pandemic.

Then, the Cabinet considered the topics on the agenda as follows:

First – Approval of:

1. Draft law regulating travel and air freight offices.

2. Draft decision of the Minister of Transport and Communications on determining the fees for issuing and renewing licences for travel and air freight offices.

3- Draft decision of the president of the General Authority of Civil Aviation on determining the specifications of the headquarters of the activities of travel offices and air cargo offices.

The draft law aims to keep pace with the development in this sector and in line with the requirements of international organisations.

The draft law included provisions such as conditions and procedures for licensing and renewing it for travel and air freight offices, regulating the safe transportation of hazardous materials, classifying air travel offices, travel and air freight offices obligations, and conditions and obligations for granting licences to international distribution system companies.

Second: Approval of a draft decision of the Minister of Transport and Communications regarding controls and fees for services related to Qatari Internet domains, to replace Resolution of the Minister of Transport and Communications No. (27) of 2017 regarding controls and fees for services related to Qatari Internet domains.

Third: Approval of a draft MoU for cooperation in the fields of tourism and business activities between Qatar Tourism and the Ministry of Culture and Sports in Kazakhstan.

Fourth: Approval of Qatar’s hosting of the 12th Islamic Conference of Culture Ministers in the Islamic World 2021 via videoconference.

Fifth: Approval of participation in the second session of the Qatari-Ukrainian joint committee for economic, commercial and technical cooperation in Kiev from 31 August to 2 September, 2021.

Sixth: The Cabinet reviewed the works of the 55th regular session of the Council of Arab Health Ministers held virtually in May 2021.
