The Ministry of Interior (MoI) officials booked 267 people in the country for violating preventive and precautionary measures that were enforced in order to curb the further spread of novel coronavirus (Covid-19). 

Among the booked 267 individuals, 252 people were booked for not wearing face masks in the public, 11 individuals were booked for not adhering to the strict social distancing and four others were found guilty for not adhering to the mandatory quarantine procedures. 

All of the violated individuals were referred to the public prosecution. 

The measures are in accordance with the Cabinet decision and Decree Law No. 17 of 1990 on infectious diseases, and the precautionary measures imposed in the region to limit the rapid spreading deadly disease.

The competent authorities urged all the citizens and residents to follow all the preventive measures kept in place to make sure their safety and the safety of other individuals in the country are assured.
