New 'Muzn' Lounge for People With Disabilities Opens at HIA

Muzn Lounge at Hamad International Airport

On October 25, 2022, the Ministry of Social Development & Family tweeted about the opening of a lounge at Hamad International Airport that caters to the needs of people with autism and other disabilities in collaboration with Shafallah- a non-profit center dedicated to children with special needs.

Sensory room- 'Muzn' aids in sensory integration for people with communication disorders and associated disabilities with sensory tools that work with colour, smell and light and prepare them to enter the aircraft smoothly. The room can be booked in advance and it accommodates all types of people on the spectrum who could get uncomfortable in a busy environment such as the airport.
