Under the Auspices of HE Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman bin Jassim Al-Thani, HE Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of State for Defense Affairs Sheikh Saoud bin Abdulrahman bin Hassan bin Ali Al-Thani launched Sunday the National Volunteer Platform under the slogan "A Lasting Impact,' in a step that reflects a national trend towards maximizing the impact and sustainability of volunteer work.

The National Volunteer Platform is a unified digital platform that aims to consolidate the efforts of various entities and organize volunteer work in the State of Qatar within an integrated national framework. It enhances efficiency and increases societal impact by connecting volunteers with organizations and volunteer opportunities in a reliable digital environment.

The launch of the platform comes within the framework of the Ministry of Social Development and Family's (MSDF) directives to implement the priorities of its 2025-2030 strategy, which aims to enhance community participation, empower individuals, and regulate volunteer work to achieve a sustainable developmental impact. This aligns with Qatar National Vision 2030 and the Third National Development Strategy, particularly the Fourth National Outcome, which aims to build a cohesive and responsible society.

The platform aims to regulate and license organizations offering volunteer opportunities and facilitate access to them for all segments of society. It also documents volunteer hours, provides a national database to support planning and impact measurement, and strengthens the governance and management of the volunteer sector nationwide.

Furthermore, the platform offers a comprehensive suite of services, including volunteer registration, management and dissemination of volunteer opportunities, issuance of accredited certificates, access to training and development programs, a mutual evaluation system, and the generation of reports and statistics to support decision-makers.

Addressing the launch ceremony, HE Minister of Social Development and Family, Buthaina bint Ali Al Jabr Al Nuaimi affirmed that volunteer work in the State of Qatar is not merely a moral obligation, but a fundamental pillar of our national identity and a vital driver for strengthening the values โ€‹โ€‹of solidarity, cooperation, and social cohesion.

Her Excellency explained that this system represents a qualitative leap in the journey of volunteer work, from numerous initiatives to a comprehensive national framework that combines organization, motivation, empowerment, digitalization, and capacity building.

She stated that the achievement being celebrated was the result of a long-standing institutional partnership and close coordination among various government entities, civil society organizations, and private sector stakeholders. She explained that all parties had contributed to developing policies, reviewing guidelines, and formulating regulatory frameworks, adding that the partnership had demonstrated that unified efforts were the most effective means of overcoming challenges and achieving major national aspirations. She further noted that the National Platform for Volunteer Work had been established through the collective efforts of all stakeholders to serve the wider community.

Her Excellency noted that the launch of the platform is merely the starting point for a new phase of organized institutional work, requiring sustained partnerships and deeper integration of roles. She emphasized that continued cooperation is the true guarantee for achieving a sustainable impact that touches people's lives, strengthens social cohesion, reinforces values โ€‹โ€‹of belonging and responsibility, and makes volunteer work a firmly established national practice that contributes to building a more cohesive and prosperous society.

For his part, Director of the Community Development Department at MSDF, Nasser Al Mughaisib presented a visual overview of the key pillars of the development of the National Platform for Volunteer Work. He explained that it stems from a deep-rooted societal legacy and is the product of collaborative work that included studies and meetings with partners, culminating in a comprehensive model that meets the needs of the current situation.

Al Mughaisib pointed out that these efforts have resulted in the establishment of a comprehensive regulatory framework for volunteer work, supported by legislation and procedural guidelines. The platform serves as its implementation tool, unifying opportunities, strengthening connections between individuals and organizations, empowering entities, developing their capabilities, and enabling impact measurement to support informed decision-making.

He added that the next phase aims to solidify a sustainable volunteer system, enhance community participation, and achieve a lasting impact, aligning with the state's vision and reinforcing the role of volunteer work in national development initiatives.

With the launch of the National Volunteer Platform, the Ministry of Social Development and Family continues its pivotal role in organizing and activating volunteer work by providing an integrated institutional environment that supports community innovation and promotes the participation of individuals and institutions. This contributes to expanding the scope of community impact and establishing a culture of volunteering as a sustainable national value in the State of Qatar.
