Together we Work Campaign
Doha, March 19Â - The National Human Rights Committee (NHRC) carried out the first event of its "Together We Work" campaign. The event took place at workers' health centers in cooperation with Qatar Red Crescent Society (QRCS).
The event aimed to raise awareness on the labor law and labor rights, by hosting them throughout the day to answer any questions they might have on the laws and their rights. The event also aimed to raise awareness on the role the NHRC plays in that regard.
Director of the public relations department at NHRC Abdullah Ali Al Mahmoud said that the event hopes to reach the broadest segment of workers, given their status as a primary partner in the development process. He added that coordination with Qatar Red Crescent helped both sides agree to focus on health centers covered by QRCS for the next three weeks.
For his part, Director of the Supply Department in the Medical Affairs Sector of QRCS Adel Jassim Al Kuwari said that the cooperation between the two sides will help serve a large segment of the expat workers community from all nationalities. He highlighted that the four health centers managed QRCS under the umbrella of the Ministry of Public Health (MoPH) provided healthcare services to 1.2 million visitors last year.Â
